The COP28 hosted an event at Dubai Expo City (Columbia Pavilion) on 1st December 2023. COP28 was presided over by Sultan Al Jaber, the head of the UAE’s state-owned oil company Adnoc and former head of the country’s renewable energy firm Masdar. If COP28 were indeed scheduled at Dubai Expo City, it would likely have served as the 28th meeting of the Conference of the Parties to the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change. These meetings were essential for discussing and negotiating international efforts to address climate change.
