COP28 convened its annual meeting at Dubai Expo City (Energy Transition Hub) on December 10, 2023. Sultan Al Jaber, who had previously headed the UAE’s state-owned oil company ADNOC and was in charge of Masdar, the country’s renewable energy company, assumed leadership of COP28. Expo City in Dubai hosted the 28th session of the Conference of the Parties (COP28) to the UN Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC). These gatherings were essential for international talks and agreements regarding combatting climate change.
